As Lincoln Big, we joined celebrations for the 2-year anniversary of their bespoke Jewellery gallery in the Bailgate.

A thriving second year in the Bail, paired with the 20th anniversary of their workshop and Gallery in Thoresby Park, founder David Fowkes has every reason to celebrate!

David Fowkes ‘pieces of art’ are individually created for each customer. One might visit the Gallery to admire their stock products, or you can begin your own commission journey.

The team works closely with all clients to understand their needs and sense of style. This results in the creation of one of a kind pieces, where quality time is taken to make decisions from stones to textures, all chosen to fit customers’ needs and desires.

David specialises in working with the natural gemstones, encapsulating their beauty and showcasing the legacy behind each stone he sources. Supporting his mantra that it is all about the client, he states:  “My one rule to customers is you’re not allowed to leave until you are completely happy.”

Design drawings are provided and then sent on to the workshop where they often create a wax model of the article with the stone in place to help the customer understand the final piece. At this stage, amendments may be made to ensure everything is as envisaged.

Working collaboratively with David and his 30 plus years of experience, a personal and sentimental piece of Jewellery is created.

Hilary, a recent addition to the team and Bailgate Gallery manager, admires the commission process, “It is the most rewarding feeling seeing our customers’ incredible reactions to all the intricate details”, a moment that has often moved customers to tears.

Celebrating their anniversary, we visited the store among other invited local business owners and enjoyed learning more about the story behind David Fowkes Jewellery and admiring their beautiful collection, all aided by the generous provision of wine and nibbles!

You can visit the Gallery on the Bailgate to start your own commission piece or to buy a stock item in store. Head to their website to learn more about what they can do for you www.davidfowkes.com
