TrailTale: Guided walks in Lincoln

Lincoln BIG have launched two new free walking trails for visitors and residents to enjoy!

Discover fascinating walking routes and handpicked hidden gems in the historical city of Lincoln. Experience all of the attractions at your own pace, in your own way,. Simply pick your starting point, choose your walk and away you go.

The trails are available on the TrailTale app, free to download from the Apple Store and GooglePlay Store. The app directs you across the city to experience walking through Lincoln's hidden high street histories.

Discover stories of iconic buildings and locations by taking part in the two walking tours of historic Lincoln:

Follow the route on the map and use the walking directions provided on each page to get to the next point. Once you reach the next point, click the marker on the map to display it's details. The walks inlcude:

Diverse Lincoln 

• Covering the South High Street of Lincoln
• This walk is approximately 2.5 miles long (4km) and should take about 2 - 3 hours to complete

Mighty Lincoln 

• Covering Uphill Lincoln, Steep Hill and The Strait
• This walk is approximately 2.3 miles long (3.6km) and should take about 2 - 3 hours to complete

Lincoln BIG are proud to launch these two trails on the TrailTale app. 

This free app will allow people to explore our City at their own pace, learning about the historic, hidden locations and building that have helped shape Lincoln into the vibrant City it is today.

Using the funding from High Streets heritage Action Zone Cultural Programme, we are able to showcase the heritage areas of the City to a wider audience as well as reminding residents and regular visitors of the deep history our City has to offer.

The trails were funded through the High Streets Heritage Action Zones Cultural Programme.  Historic England is leading the Cultural Programme in partnership with Arts Council England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
