Jazz takes centre stage in Lincoln’s spectacular Cathedral when this historic landmark plays host to a weekend festival of Jazz featuring leading UK musicians with international credentials, continuing a musical tradition that has been played across the centuries.
This, the only jazz festival to be staged in a major UK Cathedral, celebrates a range of jazz styles. The weekend opens with award winning vocalist Clare Teal and continues with appearances from guitarist Martin Taylor MBE, saxophonists Tim Garland and Paul Booth, pianists Jason Rebello and Alex Wilson plus the festival’s Artistic Director, trombonist Dennis Rollins MBE.
Brought to the city by Lincoln Jazz, in partnership with Lincoln Cathedral, with support from East Midlands Jazz, Lincoln BIG, The John Dawber Trust and valued Sponsors, all the events take place in and around the Cathedral making use of the Visitor Centre facilities. Lincoln Castle, the famous Steep Hill and Bailgate’s shopping/cafes/restaurants/hotels/pubs are all within a short stroll.
